Strictly for the wall, this extremely finely knotted, all silk Turkish Hereke creation, shows a niche design outlined in cream on a pale green field, with a central vigourous “tree of life”. Red and yellow rectangular botehs in the border. Design taken from rustic Kirsehir prayer rugs from central Anatolia. Long silk fringes. Probably from the early 1960’s when the craft was revitalised in Hereke in NW Turkey.
