This very unusual, boldly drawn SE Persian scatter shows a straw ground with a multi-layer arabesque pattern moving diagonally across the field, with a few birds perching bravely amongst the forked arabesques, rosettes, stems and leaves. Straw-cream border with lotus leaves and a meandering tendril. The palette and pattern of this rug are unusual for any type of Kerman, Lavar or otherwise. Unsigned, but very collectible. Cotton foundation, fine weave. Good condition.
