This old ivory ground west Persian carpet with strong urban pretenses shows a central pair of elaborated navy cruciform medallions and flanking broken columns of navy escutcheon palmettes with emerging cloud band-like double curved serrated leaves. Close supporting fill of rinceaux, cloud bands, rosette, palmettes and foliage. Abrashed rose border with vase sand scrollery. Leathery handle with a moderately close weave. Good condition on cotton foundation.
