The current trend in Tabriz is toward very finely knotted, highly elaborated, perfectly executed pieces aimed at a particularly affluent clientele. This scatter is totally formal, from the layered medallion with an ivory focus, to the ecru field with an unimaginable display of polychrome palmettes, to the corners with barbed leaf edges, and to the red border which decisively breaks into the guard border.
