Although this finely knotted scatter is a Southwest Persian nomadic creation, it has many of the features of a more refined city rug. A light blue sub-medallion focuses the surrounding light straw deeply scalloped and pendanted medallion embedded in a red cartouche-form panel with a decoration of small, evenly spaced rectangles. This latter motif is repeated in the black field surrounding the ivory sub-field with its broken floral pattern. Red border with tabbed ovals and diagonal corner aroid palmettes. Extra dark brown end panels with rosettes and stars. Good condition.
