The rust-rose-salmon field shows a close rendition of the classic “In-and-out” palmette 17th century pattern around a four palmette central cross in green, black, straw yellow and light red. Light olive green main border with reversing palmettes. Diagonal palmettes in the corners. Sometimes called the “Shah ‘Abbas” design although most period carpets were woven in India. Cotton foundation and well-woven. Urban origin. Good condition.
