Azeri Turks inhabit the Kuba area of the central west Caspian Caucasus and weave a wide variety of geometric scatters, runners, long rugs and niche (prayer) pieces, in geometric allover and medallion designs. Some flatweaves in kilim/tapestry and sumak (weft-wrapping) techniques are also woven. Numerous identified types/villages: Zeychur, Alpan, Chi-chi, etc. Generally all-wool, moderate to medium weave. Colourful.
