This sub-type of Kazak rug is related to the larger Sewan group, but here it shows a red and ecru central medallion, on a dark blue panel with end extensions, all speckled. The red field shows dots, stars and simple birds. The ivory border has a modular design with squares of four radiating buds. The weave is moderate and the dyes are all natural and the materials are handspun. An unusual and desirable antique Kazak rug. Good condition for the age and use.
