West Persian Kurdish Bidjar rugs, whether town or village, are very rarely dated and/or signed, making this scatter with an “iron” construction just that much more desirable. With all natural dyes, the roughly fringed octogramme teal palmette medallion with characteristic anchor pendants, is set on an lightly abrashed madder red field strewn with clusters of small flowers. Navy border of forked acanthus leaves bracketing loosely drawn rosettes/palmettes. Teal triangular corners. Good condition with incredibly resilient, compact pile wool.
