The cream niche-shaped field of this central Persian urban Isfahan displays a tall, central “tree of life”, harbouring pairs of birds, with smaller secondary trees at the sides and a pair of deer at the base. Elaborate petal palmettes, rosettes and carnations grow in fertile abundance. Blue barbed spandrels and lateral supporting columns. Ecru main border with alternating cartouches and quatrefoils. Fine weave, crisp and short pile. Good condition.
