This central Persian rustic Chahar Mahal scatter has borrowed a few features from the Qashghai rugs of southwest Persia. The nested, stepped central diamond medallion sports a device reminiscent of the “Qashghai gul” and modified versions appear in the four corners of the blue-green field. The square indented sub-field also presents pinwheel rosettes, odd hyper-stylized flowers and rectangular broad petal pendants on long staves. Botehs in the central motif and an off white border with winged rosettes, deformed leaves and quirky short, straight vinery. Good condition.
