This very fully-patterned, finely woven NW Persian carpet is certainly attributable to the highly desirable "Hajji Jalilli" period. The delicately detailed, relatively small navy field displays a tall, pendanted, meander-edged rose medallion, and is framed by a wide border system including a main band with reversing turtle palmettes copiously accented in blue tones. Functional corner turns, unlike most Tabriz rugs of the period. Brisk, low-clipped pile of excellent wool. Good condition.
