Production began in the 1930’s in the central Persian town of Nain, and this small scatter is characteristic of the very fine pieces from the 1960’s. The soft salmon-rose round octogramme medallion centres an ecru eight bud octogramme sub medallion, all on the ecru field symmetrically covered with palmettes and barbed leaves, some in a quasi-three dimensional style. Navy-black corners and putty border with many barbed leaves and smaller palmettes. Very fine weave on cotton.
