The Kerman market has principally been American and it is no surprise that THE "American Sarouk" design of detached, floating floral sprays was adopted and adapted by Kerman weavers, as evidenced by this medium/fine weave vintage piece with an ecru field and a small, stretched medallion. Their diminutive floral sprays swim within red/rose filigree flowering corners. Light blue "broken border" with cartouches and pointed tab intrusions into the field. Light colored "American" Kerman's are one of the true bargains of the current oriental carpet market. Good condition.
