The navy field hosts a pole medallion of nine equal, hooked lozenges in red or ivory, each centred by the "Qashghai gul" derived from the turtle palmette. Plants with oblique stems and round flowers grow out of the central motif. The Qashghai are the best of the SW Persian nomadic tribal weavers, working in formats ranging from small bag faces to runners to scatters to larger carpets, prayer rugs, severely geometric Gabbehs and outstanding flatwoven kilims. Yellow camel border with simple palmettes and connecting vine. Good condition.
