This squarish antique scatter comes from a village in western Persia in the Greater Hamadan Weaving Area. The rust red and old ivory palette is visibly abrashed in the minor borders. The perennially popular Herati design is organized in a single central column with the requisite "fish" leaves, open diamond, rosettes and palmettes. The main border features a rough palmette, rosette and recurved acanthus leaf on a squared off meander. Good condition.
