This is a finely woven, central Persian urban scatter with a shoulder-pinched and top scalloped old ivory niche featuring a tonally layered mound supporting a tall, central tree-of-life, with secondary and tertiary trees flanking it, all with small flowers reminiscent of prunus (flowering plum) blossoms. The constrasting navy spandrels present a coiling, forked arabesque pattern while the abrashed coral border shows palmettes and floral sprays. As evidenced by the border irregularities, a relatively early example of Interwar Isfahan Revival weaving. Good condition.
