In the style of a century earlier silk Tabriz scatters, this NW Turkish piece has an extremely fine weave on silk, with a design of straw cartouches, and ogival motives partially overlapping ecru medallion, on a closely covered blood red ground. Several narrow borders with palmette, lozenge, and rosette décor. Most silk Herekes are small and in niche/prayer designs. This is a rare, somewhat larger example with a continuous allover pattern. As new condition.
