This “Bakshayesh” period/quality NW Persian rare format long carpet shows a delightfully abrashed madder field with developed end spandrels featuring feathery trees, flowers and wonky polychrome octagons. The abrashed medium blue indigo field shows a twisted central ecru medallion and assorted large and smaller octagons enclosing crosses, and color-nested smaller octagons. Red main border of doubly-bent leavers and rosettes. A true village carpet with incredible folk art bona fides. Medium-coarse weave. Good condition for the age.
