In the better "Serapi" grade of weave, this NW Persian rustic carpet shows an ivory field, wire thin at the sides, but developing into cream corners with navy and rust nested sub-corners. The warm madder field shows a slightly shaped navy octofoil palmette medallion with a rust-salmon centre. Ragged palmette navy pendants. Characteristic Heriz-type leaves and flowers overall. Red strip style border of layered rosettes and doubly bent leaves forming a meander. Slightest end reduction, but all natural dyes, moderate weave. Good condition.
