Although in only fair condition with wear abrash, this central Persian, finely woven, town scatter still possesses real character. The rust red field with an allover flower pattern supports a rectangular ivory subfield with a curvilinear bracket outline which, in turn, centres a pendanted navy palmette and arabesque octogramme medallion. Navy indigo border of eight segment rosettes, budding short stems and serrated paired leaves. A genuine, authentic scatter from the first generation of Kashan Revival weaving, perhaps from the famed Mohtasham atelier.
