This French Aubusson tapestry shows a male figure (Don Quijote?) being expelled by a group of women, in a colonnaded and draped porch, with a male figure standing outside in the surrounding landscape. A dog assists in the action. Wool and silk pattern wefts. The natural dyes are still crisply saturated, even after three centuries. Border with vases, trays and planters, all exuberantly displaying garden flowers. Good condition.
