This is a well-woven scatter from the villagers in the Chahar Mahal district in central Persia. These rugs are often called “Bakhtiari”, although these latter weave mostly bags and not pile rugs. The navy ground is closely covered by tiny flowers and supports an ivory stepped and pendanted panel with a mobile palmette pattern. In the centre ius a semi-geometric palmette and straight vine medallion. Red border with two palmette types and orientations. Saturated colors with a good green and yellow. Good condition, eminently floorable.
