This large Rafsanjani sub tribal piece shows a navy cartouche-shaped sub-field tightly displaying hundreds of tiny, one-way botehs. Surrounding field patterned with diagonal color bars in straw, cream, red, ecru and royal blue. Characteristic burnt apricot border of round flowerheads, squares and boteh-leaves on a faceted thin meander. A very striking example of woven tribal folk art. Wool foundation, chunky handle. Good condition.
