Probably eastern Caucasian, this unusual square scatter shows four offset rows of either three complete or two and two halves of the popular eight-point "Lesghi star" motif detailed in black, ecru, straw, medium blue and coral red, all on a slightly abrashed clear medium blue ground with supporting quincunxes and little animals. The ivory border shows stepped diamonds in blue, brown and soft red. This border is more often found on Caucasian rugs from the southeast near Moghan. Good condition.
