This is a so-called ‘Lambalo’ Kazak scatter from the SW Caucasus with a very narrow red field spottily ornamented with birds and an animal, an embedded in five borders borrowed from large Lori-Pambok Kazak rugs. The red band shows stars and quartered octagons while the others present rosettes, angular tendrils of attempts at a flip-flop meander. Dark blue, yellow and green accents. Good condition. All-wool construction, saturated palette.
