The Victor Gallery and Rhyme Studio are proud to present Fibre as Legacy: Preserving Irish Wool, Celebrating Irish Artistry, a groundbreaking exhibition showcasing the revival of Ireland’s native wool heritage through contemporary design and fine art. For the first time in America, the Brooklyn- and Dublin-based Irish design practice presents a curated gallery exhibition of authentic Irish wool hand-knotted and hand-tufted carpets and tapestries.

Opening on Thursday, March 13th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the exhibition will be on view until Tuesday, March 18th, inviting visitors to experience the beauty, craftsmanship, and sustainability of Irish wool in a stunning gallery setting.

Curated to highlight both tradition and innovation, Fibre as Legacy brings together masterfully crafted hand-knotted, hand-tufted, and woven wool textiles alongside fine art that explores the deep cultural and environmental significance of this extraordinary natural fiber. A warm Irish welcome awaits you at this exhibition, celebrating Ireland’s ancient storytelling traditions through contemporary design while reaffirming the importance of wool—both for its ecological benefits and unparalleled artistry.

A selection of stunning antique Donegal Carpets from the Victor Gallery collections will also be displayed alongside designs by Claire McGovern for Rhyme Studio.

At a time when over 90% of carpets worldwide are made from synthetic, non-biodegradable fibers, while an estimated 90% of global wool goes to waste, this exhibition underscores the urgent need to preserve Ireland’s native wool industry and its vital connection to sustainable design. Each work on display reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, heritage, and a renewed vision for Irish wool as a cornerstone of circular design.

Join us at the Victor Gallery to discover how Ireland’s artistic legacy is being reimagined for a new era.
